Care & recovery

Treatments built for hair that has been wearing a helmet.

Humidity, sweat, sun and helmet straps are the four ingredients of an unhappy KL scalp. Our treatments are designed around those four exactly - a deep cleanse, a slow scalp massage, a protein step, and a finishing tonic.

A scalp treatment in progress at Quorabit

Our treatment menu started as a request from delivery riders who were losing hair under their helmet straps and from office workers who could not understand why the dandruff would not go away. We worked the protocol out over a year of trial and error with a Penang trichologist. It is short, deliberate and unfussy.

The four-step ritual

  • Cleanse. A double cleanse with a clarifying shampoo to lift the sebum and surface buildup.
  • Massage. Twelve minutes of slow scalp work with a botanical tonic - we use a blend of rosemary, peppermint and ginger oils.
  • Protein. A keratin and amino acid mask left on for eight minutes under a warm towel.
  • Finish. A cool rinse, a leave-in conditioner, and a thirty-second blow-dry on low heat.

When to consider one

Once a month if you ride two-wheels daily. Once a quarter if you work in air-conditioned offices. The week before a wedding, big event, or important shoot. After a long-haul flight if your scalp feels tight.

About combining with a haircut

The treatment runs cleanest if booked on its own visit - but if the queue is short, we can do the haircut first and the treatment after on the same chair. Add the treatment at the time of the cut and you save RM 15.

The scalp is the soil. The hair is whatever grows in it. We work on the soil.

Reset the scalp. The hair follows.

Walk into any Quorabit and ask about a treatment slot. Most shops can run one inside half an hour.
